Liebster Blog award

My sweet friend Sheila, also known as Bluepatch Quilter and Mistress of the Mystery Quilt, was kind enough to give me the Liebster award last week.  For those of you who haven't come across this phenomenon, here are the details:

The Liebster award (German for favorite) is for bloggers with 200 followers or less.
As a recipient of the award, you have the chance to thank and
link back to the blogger who gave it to you as well as
pass it along to five other deserving blogs.

I truly appreciate this, especially from Sheila, who is a very talented quilter and generous online friend.  Thank you, Sheila!!

Now I have the pleasure of passing this award on to 5 other bloggers. In my search through my regular lineup and beyond, I realized that I rarely even look at the number of followers a blogger has. Anyway, here are my choices for the next round of Liebster bloggers:

Let's start with my good pal Tong, who has just over 200 followers, but I'm going to ask for a little leniency here.  Tong was one of my very first sewing friends, is a fellow fabric addict enthusiast, and of course she is also very smart and talented.  Tong is also one of the few people I know from blogland who I also see in the flesh -- so her friendship is doubly valuable to me.  I really wish there were more opportunities to meet up in person....

The second blog I'd like to nominate is Ashley's Star Sparrow.  Last year I was involved in quite a few virtual quilting bees, including Bee (A Little Bit) Japanese, which is where I met Ashley.  She has since had a beautiful baby boy, and her blog is filled with sweet photos of him in addition to her gorgeous sewing -- both quilty items and clothing.  I highly recommend it!

Next up is Allegory, whose blog is infused with her enthusiasm for sewing and a good sense of humour.  I am particularly fond of her Halloween-themed version of the Farmer's Wife quilt (hope to see more of that soon!).  Yay, Allegory!

I first started sewing a few years ago, with a focus on garment sewing -- this quilting thing is still a relatively new passion!  I still sew clothing on occasion, and read quite a few sewing blogs focused on garment sewing.  My last two picks fall into that category.

Fourth, I would like to add my voice to the chorus of praise for Night Knitter, who has made an incredible wardrobe for her daughter (lots of Oliver + S patterns, beautifully interpreted) and lovely stuff for herself as well.  If you aspire to garment sewing, there is loads of inspiration to be found in her blog and flickr stream.

Finally, a new discovery to me is Lladybird, who has a great sense of style and makes gorgeous clothing -- including several Colette projects.  I am especially fond of her "Fabiani" coat, V2925.  The attention to detail in this coat is awe-inspiring.

I hope you'll visit all of these, and that you find as much inspiration from them as I do.

Thanks again, Sheila!

Congratulations Jennifer - I got the Leibster from Sheila too. I just have to find enough blogs that haven't just got it as well. I also didn't know Ashley still blogged. She was on my reader but the blog didn't update so I assumed she wasn't blogging once she fell pregnant.

Isisjem, thanks for reading my blog! I didn't update much while I was pregnant, but I'm back at it now :)

Thank you, Annabella. I hope you know that the feeling is mutual (and I would have had your blog in my list if your readership hadn't grown so much this year!!).

Awh. Thank you so much! I just got another box of halloween fabric in the mail so the Farmer's Wife should be coming back soon.
