Farmer's Wife QAL, progress report

I took a bit of a break from my Farmer's Wife sampler project...and the quilt-along thing seems to have shrunk from hundreds of enthusiastic farmers to just a few...but I'm nearing the end of this massive project and I can hardly believe it!

Between last night and this afternoon I have made 7 new blocks, which brings my total to 98.  I am making all 111 block designs in the book, so I have just 13 to go.  Jeepers!

I took a group shot at 96, auditioning a light gray solid as a potential sashing fabric (inspired by my online friend Melinda...not to be confused with my face-to-face sewing friend Melinda -- hi Melinda!).

Anyway, here are the newest ones.

So there we are...lots of work done and lots still to do.  But, wow, I am (IamIamIamIam) actually going to make a full Farmer's Wife Quilt.

Holy moly.

A finished Farmer's Wife quilt is a rare breed indeed!
Love the grey.

Well good for you - I think it`s going to look stunning!! I`m not a huge grey fan to be honest so I shall leave others to comment. I have this book waiting for me in England so who knows, perhaps I`ll make a few.

This is an impressive achievement. I had a plan to do all the blocks in my hand painted fabrics. I got to nine I think and then made them into some mini quilts:)

Wow! I'm impressed. I feel like such a slacker -- I haven't touched that project in months.....guess I should dig it out and get cracking on it. As for the gray---personally it doesn't do much for me. The first thought that came to mind when I saw them all laid out was navy blue......with, (I can't believe I'm saying this) orange cornerstones.

You are doing a marvellous job. Love the colours. I'm throwing my hat in the ring for black, to make all those lovely bright colours really pop.

Seeing them all together is a wonderful sight! I go for light sashing- i know it is a cliche but Kona snow is always lovely if not massively practical, otherwise a corn yellow, mellow shade could be good,
