I think those 60 degree diamond patis have so much potential - so many combinations lone stars, tumbling blogs. I still marvel such a thing exists!
I'd like to say I'm going to make a quilt but in reality it'll probably be a cushion cover of diamonds!
Your tutorial came just in time! I've just started a hexie like that and I didnt have a clue how to do the corner at the point... Thank you! I do love the look of those plastic templates though, my paper cut ones are lookin shabby already!

I'm working on a candied hexagon quilt and I've been cutting out the pieces with templates and sewing them together by hand. maybe using these would make it easier?

I have no idea what I'd make .. but your no baste method really appeals to me. I'd probably start with a pillow or table runner. Honestly, the shape would probably depend on what ever was in stock and/or on sale if I ever see these in person!

I just read your post at Lynne's blog. It was so good. I am intrigued by the hexagons with the diamonds inside but since I have never made any hexagons at all, I think I'd start small with a simple hexagon mug rug. I have a feeling those hexagons will want to multiply like proverbial rabbits and then I'd find myself making things much grander in size.
Hexing with hexagons, would do fine for me, please.
Pity I just bought my paper pieces, but I'll have a look over there anyway.

would love to have those diamond shapes as I have been drooling over those hexie stars I've been seeing around lately. I just haven't gotten motivated enough to start cutting paper. The one time I tried cutting diamonds they went all wonky on me and I wasted a lot of fabric.
